Dr. Edward J. W. Chikhwenda

Edward Chikhwenda is a licensed land surveyor and the Managing Director of Land Management Consultants, which he founded in Blantyre in 1997. He holds a PhD in Engineering Sciences from the Technical University of Vienna, an MSc in International Land Management from the University of East London, and a BSc (Hons) in Surveying and Mapping Sciences, also from the University of East London.

Alongside private practice, he has lectured in Cadastral Studies, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems, Land Tenure, Photogrammetry and Engineering Surveying — the same material this book is drawn from — and has researched land reform, cadastral systems and urban land management throughout his career.

His survey work spans cadastral, topographic and engineering projects for clients including the Secondary Centres Development Programme, Blantyre City Assembly, Malawi Housing Corporation, ESCOM, the Central Region Water Board, and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, among many private individuals and companies.
